Interview went well but i did not get the job.... dude basically said that "it would be a waste to have you sit there answering phones all day" and briefly mentioned something about another position opening up in a few months that he might contact me about because its hard to find "bubbley people" these days. -=rolls eyes=- He said per my resume i should really go after something i truely love to do at which point i told him he was talking like my dad and unfortunatly in this day and age its impossible to get into what i want to do with out taking our large loans and hoping not to flop or backing up my skill with useless collage papers... So its back to the grind of trying to find something suitable.
Having a few issues with the apartment complex and the gas company hopefully it will all be straightened out and not cause any major issues because i dont want to deal with bullshit at the moment... even though i seem to always have atleast one bullshit issues going on.
Some bug bit/stung my wrist this afternoon and its swelling up and getting nasty... stupid bugs.

went to bed around 1:30am tossed and turned til about 4:30am was up by 8:30am. I HATE JOB INTERVIEWS!
I really hate the ones where they ask you to come "dressed for success". what the hell does that mean anyways... i mean i know what it means... "business attire"... but what does it really mean?
-=sigh=-
Alas i must go put on face and put on those "god forbid anyone knows i have a tattoo" clothes. Will update on how the interview goes once i'm back home and in comphy stuff again.

Festival was over last weekend, and for a change i was actually sad to see it end. Sat we all went out to a japanese steak house up the road from site to have our last dinner and as a suprise to me celebrate my birthday a day early, sunday we spent only about 2 hours breaking down the booth and seperating stock into the new york pile, maryland pile, LA pile and D*con pile.... yup you read that correctly. Me and the Hollimonster (with help from toad, cat and the kilted one) will be vending lovely washable silks and some leather accessories at Dragon con this year... WooHoo!!
Sunday we drop stuff off here at the house for D*con stock and i get a quick birthday kiss from Okami and then i'm off to my parents house for the night. Mom kept me up with her worries about surgery til 3:30am and just as i found slumber my dad wakes me up at 5:15am for us all to load into the car and head to the hospital. They take mom back for prep around 6:30am around 7:00am they call us take the ride in the elevator up to the presurgery staging area (so to speak) outside the doors we give our "i love yous" and good wishes as mom cries and declairs for the half millionth time that shes scared. We are given a little pager thingy and park our asses in the waiting room.... surgery starts about 8:15am and by 11:45am the buzzer goes off and we are informed surgery went fine and the dr. would be down to talk to us and that after a hour and a half she would be moved to a room and we would be able to go visit. roughly 2.5 hours after some what major back surgery my mom is up and walking (with assistance)which i think gave us all a sigh of releife. there were many giggles at moms moments of drugged silliness and falling asleep with a spoon full of jello half way in her mouth. She's now been home for 3 days, still in a bit of pain but seeming to be doing really well.
Friday i spent the day with Kitty Cat shopping and making T-shirts... that night i went to The Local to see my brothers band ( A Compass for Rose) play for the second time (thats what the shirts were for) and hung out with Wabecca. I came home and passed out after giving Okami all the proud big sister details....
Sat i hung out with toad for a bit and then that night i once again went and saw A Compass play at the Werehouse in kennesaw in the battle of the bands tournement... they tied for first place, got a check and this evening were played on Kiss 102.7 (which apparently you cant pick up in smyrna or its surrounding areas) Sometime in July they will be in the finals and will be fighting for a much larger check and studio time.
Today.... we went and did some shopping, at at Joe's and then came home and vegged. My back has been hurting sense about mid day yesterday for some odd reason and has gotten progressivly worse ... but even with throbbing pain just above my right hip and shooting up to my shoulderblade i do think its time for me to call it a night.

Lilly Allen - Everything's just fine. |
] |
Last weekend of GARF.... this always saddens me, for many reasons. Birthday.... Another year older... and not a damn thing to show for it... oh boy! Mom's Surgery.... Monday... nervous as hell about it.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
And now i give you.... Lilly Allen
Do you think, everything, everyone, is going mental, It seems to me that it's spiraling outta control and it's inevitable, Now don't you think, This time is yours, this time is mine, Its temperamental, It seems to me, we're on all fours, Crawling on our knees, Someone help us please
Oh Jesus Christ almighty, Do I feel alright? No not slightly, I wanna get a flat I know I can't afford it, It's just the bureaucrats who won't give me a mortgage, Well it's very funny cos I got your fucking money, And I'm never gonna get it just because of my bad credit Oh well I guess I mustn't grumble, I suppose that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
Oh yeah, I'm fine, Everything's just wonderful, I'm having the time of my life.
Don't you want something else, Something new, than what we've got here, And don't you feel it's all the same, Some sick game and it's so insincere, I wish I could change the ways of the world, Make it a nice place Until that day, I guess we stay, Doing what we do Screwing who we screw
Why can't I sleep at night, Don't say it's gonna be alright, I wanna be able to eat spaghetti bolognaise, and not feel bad about it for days and days and days. In the magazines they talk about weight loss, If I buy those jeans I can look like Kate Moss, Oh no it's not the life I chose, But I guess that's the way that things go,
Oh yeah, I'm fine, Everything's just wonderful, I'm having the time of my life. Oh yeah, I'm fine, Everything's just wonderful, I'm having the time of my life.
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba [etc.]
Oh Jesus Christ almighty, Do I feel alright? I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're going and hook up with them later. ~Mitch Hedberg
It pays to be obvious, especially if you have a reputation for subtlety. ~Isaac Asimov
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. ~Friedrich Nietzsche

| A Helping Hand... |
[12 May 2008|02:43pm] |
I normally wouldnt do this but i feel the need to pass this along. as many of you may have already seen our wonderful photognome has posted a petition for a friend of his.... after reading over her story i felt compelled to post this as well and maybe give this a little nudge via my livejournal.... I've only had the chance of meeting Melissa once.... and she is truely is a kindred spirit...
if you havent already please read the following and sign.
taken from photognome journal:
Melissa "Fiver" Kern has been a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien since she read The Hobbit as a child, and has always loved books. Her heart leaped when she saw the preview for Peter Jackson’s film adaptations of Lord of the Rings, and she has been involved in organizing like-minded "Ringers" in the Southeast for many years now.
The hard truth is that Melissa has just been diagnosed with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Essentially, it causes all the motor neurons in the brain to shut down, gradually making the muscles unable to function. It’s very rare (1 in 1 Million) for someone who’s only 34 years old to come down with this, as it mainly affects people between 50 and 70. Life expectancy is 3-5 years from diagnosis, and there is no cure. (She’s had the disease for about a year already.) The disease progressively takes away movement and coordination. In September, she marched with fellow LotR fans in the annual DragonCon parade. Six months later, she is barely walking, and needs my help to climb stairs or get dressed. We have a son, Matthew, who just turned six.
She is excited about the filming of "The Hobbit" sequels, but was apprehensive about the release dates of 2010 and 2011: She doesn’t even know if she’ll still be alive when these movies are released. I told her to make that her goal : to be around to see these films in the theater. But we don’t know how this disease will go.
The goal of PROJECT FIVER is to deliver a petition to Peter Jackson, New Line, and whoever takes the Directorship, asking that Melissa be cast as a costumed hobbit extra in the film. Even if she’s not there when the movies are released, just being part of the production of The Hobbit, even if it’s just sitting at a table in the background, will absolutely mean the world to her. It would be her reason to hang on.
Melissa has done an incredible amount to promote Tolkien Fellowship. She has been a key member of the Tolkien Track at DragonCon for several years, and has also volunteered with the Young Adult Literature track there, and helped to plan the Harry Potter Yule Ball and DragonCon's (in)famous Pirate Party. She has been an active member on TheOneRing.net, co-leader of ArmsOfMiddleEarth.com and member of numerous LotR-Related Moots, and Meet-Up groups in the Atlanta area. She has volunteered at Anime Weekend Atlanta for the past two years, and for the Mythic Journeys organization since 2004, and worked PR for the past two conferences. Additionally, she has helped organize local Release Parties for the Harry Potter books and coordinated with movie theaters to have a crew of costumed Pirates raise money for the AMC Stars of Hope Charity at the Pirates of the Caribbean movie premieres.
Many in these groups have been asking what they can do to help her out and lift her spirits, and PROJECT FIVER is my best answer. She did not ask for this. Project FIVER is the community and my wish for her. It would a simple thing for a large production company like New Line (Time Warner) to so this, and we're only asking that she be given an extra's part, just a background Hobbit. (Not a script re-write of the script, inserting her into the storyline.) This is something simple that would mean the world to someone...who means the world to many of us.

its and update... YAY!!!
Last night went and played trivia with Okami, we came in 3rd out of 6 teams i think, not bad for us both being more distracted by the music and not focusing on the questions... and i think we actually got one of the sports questions right which is odd to say the least.... afterwards we went and played bar bingo with Wabecca (wade and rebecca). our tab was basically covered with out bingo winnings.... wooohoo.
3 weeks into garf and things seem to be going pretty freaking slow.... i seriously think someone needs to have a big sit down talk with the owners and say "HEY!!! DIPSHITS!!!! haveing 3 'someone gets in free weekends' back to back KINDA SUCKS FOR US VENDORS!!!!" but we make the best out of it and Embrace our uncertianty
and with that being said... i give you.... Pictures!!!

Madonna - Don't tell me |
] |
Don't tell me to stop Tell the rain not to drop Tell the wind not to blow 'Cause you said so, mmm
Tell the sun not to shine Not to get up this time, no, no Let it fall by the way But don't leave me where I lay down
Tell me love isn't true It's just something that we do Tell me everything I'm not but please don't tell me to stop
Tell the leaves not to turn But don't ever tell me I'll learn, no, no Take the black off a crow But don't tell me I have to go
Tell the bed not to lay Like the open mouth of a grave, yeah Not to stare up at me Like a calf down on its knees
Tell me love isn't true It's just something that we do Tell me everything I'm not but don't ever tell me to stop
Don't you ever Tell me love isn't true It's just something that we do Don't you ever Tell me everything I'm not but don't ever tell me to stop
after all her stupid ass bullshit there for a few years i have finally once again found a Madonna song i lurve. for some reason it just makes me smile.... oh and hip hop cowboys are pretty freaking awsome (go check the video out teehee)

| An update.... |
[02 Apr 2008|04:20pm] |
the move is officially over, fridge was moved yesterday over to my parents house and the keys were locked inside the house for the scumlord. YAY. now all that left to do is pay him the little bit we still owe him and we will never have to deal with him ever again. i am pleased.
started unpacking the apartment today, realized i packed 4 boxes of junk so i'm gonna have to make a run to the dumpster later tonight to drop all that crap off. I also wound up stumbling across an old journal... from 1996(?) which i thumbed through for a moment, found an entry an ex of mine wrote and it made me smile... unfortunatly the majority of the journal had water damage so its going into the trash... along with about 400 photos from highschool... but i did manage to save a few of them. I also found Peek-A-Boo, a very loved grey bunny that was given to me by the same ex. It actually still has the black garter around its neck from when we marched Carmen my Junior Year. its weird to look back on these pictures and see how much i have changed/not changed... its also a little comphorting.
{sing} MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMMMOOOOOORIES!{/sing}
Anywho... 2 loads of dishes down (YAY DISHWASHER) 8 boxes unpacked and its starting to look like we have a living room again so thats good. In other news, Tengoku barks at carpter bees, and Tenshi almost broke my arm this morning when i took her out for her walk and she saw a cat... not fun.
and on that note.... off i go to the land of boxes!
